Inaugural British Poker Awards will take place on September 13th at Kensington Close Hotel in London. The event, which is designed to honour the best of UK’s poker talent, includes 11 awards over various categories, including the Best Overall Poker Player, Best Cash Player, Best Tournament Player, Best Online Player and Best UK Card Room. The first annual event will be co-compered by celebrity poker player Antonio ‘The Magician’ Esfandiari and online gaming expert-editor Michael Caselli.

WBF Heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield showed his poker skills winning his heads up challenge match at London festival Poker in the Park. “Playing poker it’s like fighting” claimed Holyfield before the kick off of London live tournament. “If you want to win you have to focus and prepare and that’s exactly what I did for this tournament just like I do for any challenge.”

After two-month of voting process, the World Series of Poker officials unveiled the top 10 vote getters for the 2010 Poker Hall of Fame Class. Now it will now be up to the current Hall of Famers and a panel of media members - the Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council - to determine who will get into this exclusive club: they will review the list and examine who is eligible to enter or not among the current 37 members of the Poker Hall of Fame. Four criteria are required to be considered worthy: a player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition; played for high stakes; played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers; stood the test of time; or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.

Poker in the Park 2010, the fourth annual edition of the London festival that will run from Thursday September 2nd trough Friday September 3rd, will launch the new autobiogrhaphy of David 'Devilfish' Ulliott, the safe cracker turned poker champ. “Devilfish: The Life and Times of a Poker Legend” will be presented at 7pm on Friday 3rd September, in the second and final day of Europe's biggest poker festival.
